Yeshiva For Russian Speakers In JerusalemYeshiva for Russian Speaking Jews - is one of the most important programs of Toldos Yeshurun. We provide a warm, friendly environment welcoming people who came to learn from many different countries. Some of our current students flew in from the former Soviet Republics: Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Belorus, others from the United States and Germany. The goal of our program is to help students get firmly rooted in their Jewish roots, while preparing them for a life-time of spiritual growth. After leaving the yeshiva, the alumni continue to keep in touch with each other forming a tight support network for our graduates. The best of the yeshiva graduates are learning at the best of Israel's Kollels (a Kollel is like a graduate school for Torah learning) and can become teachers in Toldos Yeshurun. "Russian Yeshiva" are located at the acclaimed Mirrer Yeshiva, which for several generations has been supplying the world with leaders of the Jewish cause and foremost Torah scholars. The Mirrer yeshiva attracts hundreds of Jewish young men by its rich history, diverse student population and its central position in the Torah world. Headed by the descendants of the legendary founders of top yeshivas of the pre-Holocaust Eastern Europe, the Mirrer is the beating heart of the Jewish world. Since this is the place where world's biggest Torah experts come together in largest numbers, our students have no difficulty getting answers to their most sophisticated questions, or finding the right person to learn from. The students live in comfortable dorms in a new three-tier villa in the heart of Jerusalem. Only 20 minutes of walk to the Western Wall, and proximity to other central tourist locations, the yeshiva offers many opportunities to take quality breaks without having to go too far. Yet, conviniently separated from Jerusalem's busy streets, one can always spent some quite time undisturbed by street noise and crowds of tourists. The studies take place
from 9:15 till 1:15, then, after a lunch break (second of three hot meals a day), from 15:30 till 19:00, and in the evening
from 20:30 till 22:30. The classes are generally taught in Russian, but there are also lectures in Hebrew for the more advanced.
Concurrently with classes, each student receives a private tutor ("chavrusa") who helps guide each person's individual
growth. The program is headed by Rabbi David Grossman who studied under Rabbi Yigal Polischuk of Yeshivat HaRan, and Rabbi Leib Nachman Zlotnik, a graduate of the Chadera Yeshiva. Among the rabbis who teach in the yeshiva on a regular basis are: Ben Tzion Zilber, Igal Polishuk, Menachem Grauss, Avraham Cooperman, Binyomin Finkel, Chaim Gogoloshvili, Aharon Kremeritzin, Leib Erenburg. Those who are interested to learn more about our program are invited to visit our special open Shabbos. Contact telephone: +972-54-845-6006 (Russian or Hebrew)
